China Safety, EMC, Radio and Telecommunication Product Approvals

Specific Details for CCC Safety and EMC Product Approvals

The China Compulsory Certificate is also known as the CCC Mark or 3C, and is the compulsory safety mark for many products imported, sold, or used in the Chinese market, this includes Chinese manufactured products. Even if a product does not require the CCC certificate, customs officers may still demand documentation upon entry, making obtaining a Clearance Certificate a wise choice to avoid problems.

If your product falls on the list of products by Harmonized System (HS) code, NTS will need to do in-country testing in order to obtain the CCC mark. If your product does not fall into this list, NTS will pursue an exemption letter so that your product can clear customs.

  • CB report must be accurate, factory names and address must be 100% correct
  • Local tests are usually not a problem, tests are done by governmental labs (there is no private lab authorized to do final certification tests)
  • Standards are currently changing – and regulation demands approval update frequently.
  • Factory inspection must be done by CQC auditor (in USA it could take too long)
  • Some components must have its own approval (power supply, PCB Assembly Drawing, power cord set, etc).

Some of the documents required for approval are:

Chinese Manual, Photos, Block Diagrams, Schematics, Certificate of components, Business licenses, etc.

Specific Details for SRRC Radio Product Approvals

The SRRC or State Radio Regulatory Commission, is the certification body in China responsible for the SRRC certification of wireless products. All products, including each model, with radio transmitters must be SRRC approved. SRRC also will require in-country testing.

Tests are done locally by governmental labs.

  • 3 or 5 samples will be required, depending on the technology
  • All samples will be tested and all have to pass at the tests
  • Certificate can list only one model and there is no procedure for family, series or similarity approach
  • Modular approval is been discussed in China and we should have a procedure for modular approval soon

Some of the documents required for approval are:

Manual, Photos, Block Diagrams, Schematics, Business licenses, etc.

Specific Details for China NAL Telecom Product Approvals

  • Approval can list only one model and only one factory!!
  • Local rep is required (license holder)
