CALABASAS, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 14, 2005--National Technical Systems, Inc. (NTS) (Nasdaq:NTSC), a leading provider of quality and conformance testing and managed services, announced today that it is acquiring a Nortel CS2000 Class 5 Switch for its Santa Rosa, Phase Seven interoperability testing laboratory.
NTS Santa Rosa\'s VP of Operations, Curt Wheeling, stated: "The acquisition of this equipment was hastened by a three-year contract received from a large telecom equipment manufacturer." Wheeling added, "We believe adding the VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) and SIP (Session Initiation Protocol) infrastructure, in addition to our legacy test platforms, will enable NTS to become one of the leading legacy and next generation telecom test facilities in the country."
CEO and President Bill McGinnis went on to say, "As carriers around the Globe upgrade their networks to provide next generation broadband services to their customers, they face the challenge of ensuring seamless interoperability between the new technologies and their installed base of legacy systems. Our NTS/Phase Seven facility provides a unique ability for Carriers and equipment manufacturers to test and validate these new solutions before deploying them on live networks, thereby ensuring the reliability and quality of service that their customers expect."
