National Technical Systems Plans to Consolidate Its Certified DSL Testing Facilities

CALABASAS, Calif. & HULL, England--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 2, 2005--National Technical Systems (NASDAQ:NTSC) and Laboratory Accreditation Services, dba KTL, of the United Kingdom announced today that KTL has discontinued its certified DSL testing relationship with Phase Seven Laboratories of Santa Rosa, Calif., effective August 25, 2005, for competitive reasons. Phase Seven was acquired by National Technical Systems (NTS) earlier this year. NTS also operates a certified DSL testing facility in Culver City, Calif.

NTS also announced today that it plans to consolidate its certified DSL testing facility in Culver City, Calif., into the certified facilities at Phase Seven in Santa Rosa.

William McGinnis, CEO of NTS said, "The integration of these two DSL test facilities, together with the soft switch, Class V ESS switches and traffic and cable simulation facilities at Phase Seven, will produce a unique world class capability for interoperability and functional test of telecommunications equipment. Our consolidation of these facilities will greatly benefit our clients by enhancing DSL testing through-put and reduce costs. The consolidation plans are designed to insure that there will be no interruption or delay in providing DSL testing services. NTS remains committed to providing a level of service that exceeds customer expectations. We expect the consolidation to be complete in about 45 days."
