Test Technician

NTS in Santa Clarita, CA is seeking Ordnance/Vibration Test Technician to support the testing of mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components for the aerospace, defense and other industries. The Vibration Technician is responsible for the setup and performance of shock and/or ordnance tests utilizing modern test equipment. This individual will also be responsible for troubleshooting test setups, interfacing with customers, and supporting fellow team members in accomplishing daily tasks. Additionally, interfacing with Program Managers and proactively working to maintain a proper workflow through the department will be required.

RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to:

• Data collection utilizing standard test control systems, signal conditioners, and instrumentation
• Analysis and verification of test setups, test levels and requirements
• Assisting with design/engineering/drawing/fabrication of complex and/or customized shock/vibration fixtures
• Dynamics testing with emphasis on half-sine, SRS and MIPS shock techniques

Required Education/Skills/Experience:

• Must be eligible to work in the US without sponsorship (present and future) and able to pass a drug test and DMV and background check
• High School Diploma or the equivalent
• Qualified/Eligible to handle explosive materials
• 2+ years of shock and/or ordnance testing and handling experience (Preferred)
• Ability to use various electronics (i.e. volt meter), control and data acquisition systems
• Familiarity with MIL-STD810, and/or RTCA-DO160 test methodology
• LabView programming experience is a plus
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent people skills, must be a strong team player and willing to adapt as necessary
• Understanding of Military & Aerospace compliance standards
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (i.e. Word, Excel) required
• Experience in electronics and/or the ability to perform signal analysis
• Ability to multitask and work in a fast paced environment with minimal supervision
• Strong attention to detail and mechanical aptitude
• Willing to work extended hours and weekends as necessary
