Test Engineer (EMC/EMI)

NTS, the leading provider of testing and engineering services, has a position open for an EMI/EMC Test Engineer. The EMI/EMC Engineer sets up and performs EMI/EMC tests, coordinates the maintenance and calibration of EMI/EMC test equipment, and works with clients to meet their needs. The successful candidate will be detail oriented, enjoys solving problems in a fast-paced environment, and working directly with clients to help them solve their problems.


• Provide direct EMI testing services to clients
• Assist with the maintenance and calibration of EMI test equipment
• Work directly with OEM suppliers on specific projects
• Maintain current knowledge of agency standards and testing procedures
• Participate as a team member to accomplish departmental and corporate objectives
• Perform other job related duties as assigned
• Maintain a clean environment in the EMI lab
• Assist with troubleshooting and provide engineering support, as appropriate
• Seek out cost savings opportunities or efficiency gains
• Responsible for pretest and posttest inspections of each assigned test project
• Develop test procedures, review technical reports
• Assist in the technical development of EMI quotations
• Maintain ISO 17025 quality and calibration systems


• Must be eligible to work in the US without needing sponsorship (present or future) and able to pass a drug test and DMV and background check
• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or similar engineering-related field and 2 years of EMI/EMC testing experience or we will consider 5+ years direct EMI/EMC testing experience in lieu of a degree
• Military electronics training and/or related experience will also be considered
• Prior EMI testing experience is required. MIL-STD-461, RTCA D0160, FCC Part 15, and CE MARK standards are preferred.
• Knowledge of EMI/EMC testing of MIL-STD-461, medical, IT, test and measurement equipment
• Knowledge of ISO 17025 quality system and requirements
• Good communication and customer service skills
• Demonstrated attention to detail and seeing things through to completion
• Excellent people skills and ability to motivate people
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent computer skills required; knowledge of Microsoft Office programs is required
• Work well in a team environment
• Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics AX a strong plus
• Able to function in a fast pace environment
• Willingness to learn, be flexible, and innovative
• Understanding of Military, Aerospace & Commercial Standards
