Regional Sales Manager

NTS is seeking a Regional Sales Manager with experience selling testing services specifically to the Medical Device industry. You can work remotely (from Southern CA, WA or OR) if you possess this experience and you are not local to the SF Bay Area which is where our lab is located. The Regional Sales Manager at NTS is the primary business contact with new and existing customers and serves as the customer advocate, the “voice of the customer.” NTS is a provider of testing and engineering services (Thermal Stress and Extreme Environment Simulation, Shock and Vibration Testing, EMC / Wireless Testing, Product Safety) to multiple industries to include Telecom/Wireless, Medical, Consumer Electronics and Aerospace/ Defense. This position will focus on the Medical Device industry. This is a financially rewarding opportunity!

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Primarily will be responsible for generating new business
  • Helping to support and grow existing business for NTS where appropriate
  • Presenting and selling company products and services to potential customers
  • Preparing action plans and schedules to identify specific targets and to project the number of contacts to be made
  • Following up on new leads and referrals resulting from field activity
  • Identifying sales prospects and contact these and other accounts as assigned
  • Preparing presentations, specific to potential customer needs
  • Developing and maintaining sales materials and current product knowledge
  • Preparing a variety of status reports, including activity, closings, follow-up, and adherence to goals
  • Supply management with oral and written reports on customer needs, problems, interests, competitive activities, and potential for new services
  • Communicating new service opportunities, special developments, information, or feedback gathered through field activity to appropriate company staff
  • Coordinating company staff to accomplish the work required to close sales
  • Customer communications including: telephone calls, in-person visits and presentations to prospective customers.
  • Researching sources for developing prospective customers and for information to determine their potential
  • Coordinating sales efforts with marketing, sales management, operations and technical service groups
  • Analyzing and visiting the territory/market potential and determining the value of prospective customers
  • Identifying opportunities with new prospects and compare NTS products/services
  • Planning and organizing personal sales strategy by maximizing the “return-on-time” investment for the territory/segment
  • Keeping abreast of product applications, technical services, market conditions, competitive activities, advertising and promotional trends through the reading of pertinent literature and consulting with sales management and technical service areas
  • Participating in trade shows and conventions

Accountabilities include:

  • Capture management
  • Consistently providing excellent customer service to accounts
  • Establishing and building relationships with customers to encourage new and repeat business opportunities
  • Prospecting and expanding the opportunities with the customer by understanding the customer needs
  • Supporting the Inside Sales Managers with existing accounts
  • Meeting sales goals

Required Skills/Education/Experience:

  • Must be able to work in the US without sponsorship and able to pass a drug test and DMV and background check
  • Must have 5 years of outside sales experience, to include new account/customer development, selling engineering products or services to the Medical Device industry. In lieu of this experience, we are willing to consider someone who has specifically sold compliance product testing services to other industries.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and interaction skills
  • Must be a solid team player
  • Must have technical knowledge and acumen in order to better understand NTS’ capabilities
  • A degree is desired but not required
