MS SQL Database Administrator (DBA)

NTS is seeking an SQL Database Administrator (DBA), responsible for all database instances across a variety of server versions and operating systems, including Azure. This position works with new SQL implementations, production, and development instances alike. To be considered, you must possess the following skills:

• Must be local to CA
• SQL DBA or SQL Administrator for MS SQL
• MY SQL or Oracle
• Backup or Backups
• SQL Profiler
• Disaster Recovery
• Query development / T-SQL
• Script / Scripting

• Administer SQL Server databases and instances
• Assure backups, redundancy and DR plan functioning and available at all times
• Implement and maintain necessary processes to assure data integrity and periodic validations
• Configure and maintain database and related servers and systems
• Create, modify and improve existing system queries
• Monitor and maintain system’s health, availability, security and performance
• Analyze, solve, and correct issues in real time
• Assist with deployment and configuration of SSIS, Analysis services and SSRS sites and tools
• Provide proactive and extensible solutions, short and long term
• Refine and automate regular processes, track issues, and document changes
• Assist partners and developers with query tuning and schema refinement and code deployment
• Partner with other teams to meet goals of NTS
• Provide 24×7 support for critical production systems
• Perform scheduled maintenance and support release deployment activities after hours
• Effectively script in PowerShell or other current language
• Effectively create, test and deploy SSIS packages utilizing Visual Studio


• Must be eligible to work in the US and able to pass a drug test and DMV and background check
• 5 years of experience as a SQL Server DBA role with multiple and concurrent systems
• 5 years proven ability to write T-SQL from scratch and modify existing queries
• 1 years of experience with MY SQL Server Administration experience
• 1 year experience with SQL Profiler, DMVs, error logs and related tool
• 3 years’ experience with Integration Services, SSRS and Analysis Services
• 3 years of experience with Performance Tuning and Optimization (PTO)
• 3 years of experience with backups and implementations, restores and recovery models
• 3 years of experience of High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for SQL Server
• 3 years of experience with Windows server, including Active Directory
• MCTS, MCITP, and/or MVP certifications a plus
• Willingness to learn and grow, share experiences and build upon existing knowledge
• Sense of ownership and pride in performance and impact on company’s success
• Proven ability to monitor and report upon systems performance metrics
• Ability and willingness to learn the data, and supporting applications
• Able to create, implement and track five-year plan
