Mechanical Technician

NTS, the leading provider of testing and engineering services, has an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Technician. This role is responsible to fabricate plumbing in support of our fluids department test capabilities. These capabilities service the aerospace, defense, and commercial industries. The right candidate will be detail oriented, enjoy solving problems in a fast-paced environment, and working directly with our customers to provide solutions to their testing needs.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

• Comply with all company safety procedures
• Adhere to cleanliness requirements for space hardware
• Provide creative solutions to tough design challenges
• Complete build checklists and document modifications
• Assemble plumbing per engineer drawings, including use of hand tools, tube benders, cutting torches, and welders
• Focus on delivering to the customers need, both internal and external
• Work with test engineers to understand and build test setups
• Maintain a working knowledge of all company quality procedures
• Perform duties with the highest level of integrity

REQUIRED SKILLS/EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

• Must be eligible to work in the US without citizenship (present or future) and able to pass a drug test and DMV and background check
• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• 2+ years cryogenic testing experience is preferred OR we will consider two years of mechanical experience in a mechanical field (hands-on plumbing, welding, metal building/fabrication, aircraft mechanic, valve repair/rebuild, navy mechanic)
• Valid Driver’s License
• Basic Computer Skills, including but not limited to Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Word
• Works well independently or on a team
• Ability to communicate effectively
• Adapts to change quickly and easily
• Flexibility to work all shifts and overtime
• Knowledge and working experience with Cryogenics, including but not limited to Liquid Oxygen, Liquid Hydrogen, Liquid Nitrogen is preferred
• Knowledge and working experience with High Pressure, High Flow, and High Temperature Gases, including but not limited to Hydrogen, Oxygen, Nitrogen, Methane, Steam is preferred
Knowledge of valve repair and rebuild is preferred
