Mechanical Technician

NTS in Camden, AR is seeking a Test Technician for the setup and performance of vibration and shock tests utilizing modern test equipment. This individual will also be responsible for troubleshooting test setups, interfacing with customers, and supporting fellow team members in accomplishing daily tasks. Additionally, will interface with Program Managers and proactively work to maintain a proper workflow through the department. Please see “Required Skills” below.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Setup and Running Vibration & Shock tests
  • Data collection utilizing vibration control systems, thermocouples, and accelerometers
  • Troubleshooting test set ups
  • Operate Thermal Chambers
  • Analyze and Verify test setups, levels, and requirements
  • Perform other duties as required

Required Education/Skills Experience:

  • Must be eligible to work in the US without sponsorship and able to get an explosive handlers license and be able to pass an extensive background and DMV check and drug test
  • Any experience with vibration or shock testing OR 2 years of experience with mechanical or electrical testing of military or aerospace devices/systems is highly desirable. At minimum, this person must have hands-on mechanical related experience
  • Must be a high school graduate or equivalent
  • Must have a valid driver’s license
  • Must have a strong mechanical aptitude
  • Leadership or management experience
  • Ability to engineer unique test set-ups
  • Ability to use electronic data recording system
  • Ability to use a volt/ohm meter, vibration controller, and oscilloscope
  • Familiar with MIL-STD-810 testing preferred
  • Ability to work with explosives
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs is necessary
  • Excellent people skills and be a strong team player willing to adapt as necessary
  • Ability to tolerate stress and work in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to complete tasks with minimal supervision
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Must be willing to work extended hours and weekends as necessary
