Mechanical Engineer (Recent Graduate for PM Position)

National Technical Systems (NTS) is seeking a recent BSME graduate for a Project Manager/Engineer role to work in its Santa Clarita, CA location. Following specific NTS Standard Operating Procedures, safety policies, and industry specifications, the Project Manager/Engineer is responsible for managing test programs consisting mainly of dynamics (shock and vibration) and fluids testing. In order to be considered for this position, you must possess a recent Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and internship experience working in the aerospace industry in engineering or manufacturing or testing OR have project or coursework experience in (i.e., environmental, shock, acoustic, structural, vibration/dynamics or fluids). We may consider 3 years of environmental testing experience in the aerospace industry in lieu of a degree.

• Manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Interface between NTS technical personnel and customers
• Coordinate customer scheduling requirements with NTS department managers
• Track project financial performance
• Offer technical guidance to test technicians
• Review test data to assure adherence to customer requirements
• Compile test data for report generation upon completion of testing
• Modify project labor and material budgets to reflect current status
• Use Microsoft DAX system for project budgeting, billing, and financial reporting
• Perform other duties as assigned

• Must be eligible to work in the US without sponsorship and able to pass a drug test, and DMV and background check
• Recent Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Physics and internship experience working in the aerospace industry in testing OR have project or coursework experience in (environmental, shock, acoustic, structural, vibration/dynamics or fluids)
• Strong computer literacy and experience with Microsoft Office suite of programs, MS Project, and Visio
• Self-motivated, dependable, and responsible person requiring little direct supervision
• Strong communication and documentation skills
• Strong organizational, analytical, problem solving skills
• Excellent teamwork & interpersonal skills
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment
• Open minded person with the agility and flexibility to adjust to changing priorities
• Ability to remain calm and focused in an environment of constantly shifting priorities and demands
• Proven ability to learn at a fast pace with minimal training

• AutoCAD/Solidworks experience is a plus
• FEA and CFD experience is a plus
