Mechanical Engineer (Recent BSME)

NTS in Camden, AR is one of the most complete ordnance test facilities in the country, developed to meet the manufacturing and testing needs of the weapons industry. This multidisciplinary test facility performs testing of ordnance, munitions and hazardous materials, including climatic and dynamics testing, functional trials and live firings. We have an exciting opportunity for a recent BS Mechanical Engineering graduate (BSME) to work as a Dynamics Test Technician for the setup and performance of vibration and shock tests, utilizing modern test equipment. This individual will also be responsible for troubleshooting test setups, interfacing with customers, and supporting fellow team members in accomplishing daily tasks. Additionally, will interface with Program Managers and work to maintain a proper workflow through the department.


• Setup and Running Vibration & Shock tests
• Data collection utilizing vibration control systems, thermocouples, and accelerometers
• Troubleshooting test set ups
• Operate Thermal Chambers
• Analyze and Verify test setups, levels, and requirements
• Perform other duties as required


• Must be eligible to work in the US without sponsorship (present and future) and able to pass a drug test and DMV and background check
• Must be able to meet eligibility requirements to be granted access to confidential/classified information
• A recent Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) with coursework or experience in data acquisition and mechanical dynamics, including project or internship experience in testing, dynamics, engineering or manufacturing in the Aerospace industry OR we will consider two (2) years of environmental/vibration testing experience in the aerospace industry or hands-on technical engineering (such as drafting/design or working in manufacturing) will be considered in lieu of a degree
• Must be able to obtain an ATF Explosive Handlers License
• Good mechanical aptitude and familiarity with use of hand and power tools
• Electrical, electronics, and/or additional computer skills a plus
• Ability to learn technical control and analysis systems
• Work independently and within a dynamic team environment
• Communicate and interface effectively with senior technical and management personnel
• Candidate may be asked to work overtime as required
• Computer skills such as Word and Excel
• Results oriented, working in a fast paced environment
• Should possess good time management skills
