IT Support Specialist

NTS is seeking an IT Support Specialist to focus on the facilities throughout the Western Region but expected to provide IT support to the whole NTS enterprise. This position will provide support to users, maintain current systems and assist with infrastructure support. The ideal candidate will have a good understanding of IT systems including Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange, Windows Server 2008R2, Windows 2003, Windows XP,7,8, and 10, MS Office Suites, Share Point, Wireless, Networking, Switches, Routers, Network Printers, and cabling. This position would offer a chance to take on a number of additional responsibilities and develop a broad range of hands-on technical skills.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

• Providing Level 1 and Level 2 technical support to troubleshoot and resolving hardware, software, and network issues
• Building, configuring and deploying workstations and servers
• Assisting Infrastructure team with the configuration and maintenance of routers, switches (Cisco & HP), firewall/security devices, wireless access points, mobile devices and other types of networking equipment
• Coordinating and executing critical network operations, such as maintenance, migrations, adjustments with the backbone, technology changes/additions, networks, hardware/software upgrades
• Documenting all support & maintenance activity
• Diligently and consistently following departmental & organizational policies and procedures
• Maintaining current knowledge of disaster recovery plans and executables
• Responding to emergency network system outages as required
• Proactively and effectively communicating status, plan-of-action, and resolution of issues

REQUIRED EDUCATION/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

• Must be eligible to work in the US without sponsorship and able to pass a drug test and DMV and background check
• Must have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record. This positon requires travel to NTS Southern CA locations
• Minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on IT Support experience
• Experienced in supporting and troubleshooting Microsoft Windows XP, 7, 8 and 10, Enterprise OS and associated applications on desktop and laptop platforms in a corporate environment
• Experienced in troubleshooting PC based desktop and laptop hardware issues, faults, upgrades, includes efficiently stripping, and re-building equipment
• Experienced in supporting and troubleshooting Microsoft Office suite of applications
• AA Degree in Information Systems or Computer Science or other Technical field is desired but not required
• Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
• Strong customer service orientation
• Ability to support issues within an Active Directory integrated environment
• Ability to support users working within RDP, includes basic troubleshooting and knowledge of remote printers, internet/LAN/WAN connectivity, RDP connection configuration, RDP Gateway, cached RDP credentials
• Excellent day-to-day ticket management through the use of an IT ticketing system, includes regularly updating work logs
• Strong ability to manage emergency outages. Includes management of communication and proactive ability to monitor and stay on top of events until completion or resolution
• Excellent day-to-day management of communication between individual customers, internal IT and the business as a whole. Includes proactive updates, team liaising and progress monitoring following ticket routing
• Ability to support and troubleshoot mobile/tablet devices including Windows, iOS, and Android platforms
• Ability to support and troubleshoot centralized printing systems and maintain copiers and printers
• Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
• Ability to respond quickly to emergency situations
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret documents and technical procedures
• Ability to solve practical problems while maintaining strict compliance with existing policies, procedures, and established standards
• Experience in a business environment, good written/oral communication skills with users
• Highly motivated, great attitude with enthusiasm to learn new skills and technologies at fast pace
• Able to demonstrate a high degree of flexibility including out of hours working
• Show initiative when dealing with problems
• Ability to prioritize workload
