Engineering Electronics Tech

NTS in Rustburg, Virginia is seeking an RF or Engineering Electronics Technician (military, aero, avionics preferred) to work in the capacity of EMI Technician. The right candidate will have a working knowledge of electronics; a strong mathematic aptitude and the ability to trouble shoot and learn on the job.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team to perform test set-ups, operate and adjust test equipment for EMI/EMC testing
• Read and understand testing specifications from pictorial diagrams and schematics, identify and prepare test equipment including electrical set-ups for electrical components and system
• Utilization of amplifiers, signal generators, oscilloscopes, test chambers, EMI receivers, antennas and/or other technology associated with EMI/EMC functional testing
• Operate test chambers
• Throughout test process, verify, review and document all data
• Interface with Engineers and NTS customers

• Must be eligible to work in the US without sponsorship (present or future) and able to pass a drug test, DMV and background check
• Understanding of basic electronic systems, (Connecting a stereo, amps, speakers, signal generator, etc.)
• Ability to independently perform test set-ups, the ability to learn on the job about EMI/EMC testing and follow test plans/instructions and procedures for compliance testing
• Willingness and ability to interface with customers
• Ability to read and understand test procedures, technical documents, and schematics to identify and prep test equipment including electrical set-ups
• The ability to take photographs, and document configurations accurately
• Expertise in the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel and Word)
• Troubleshoot and repair problems with equipment and systems when required

• Operation of EMI/EMC Chambers
• Hands on experience with spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, signal generators and other test equipment
• 2-year degree in Electronics, Computer Networking, Mathematics, or related course of study Experience such as Electronics Technician, Engineering Tech, Calibration Tech and/or Military training will be considered in lieu of a degree
• Knowledge of MIL-STD-461E/F/G and MIL-STD-1399 Part B

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
