EMI/EMC Test Engineer

The EMC/EMI Test Engineer sets up and performs EMC/EMI testing, coordinates the maintenance and calibration of EMI/EMC test equipment, and works with clients to meet their needs. The successful candidate will be detail-oriented, enjoys solving problems in a fast-paced environment and working directly with clients to provide solutions to their problems.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

• Provide direct EMI/EMC testing services to clients
• Assist with the maintenance and calibration of EMI/EMC test equipment
• Work directly with OEM suppliers on specific projects
• Maintain current knowledge of agency standards and testing procedures
• Participate as a team member to accomplish departmental and corporate objectives
• Perform other job related duties as assigned

REQUIRED EDUCATION/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

• Must be eligible to work in the US without sponsorship (present or future) and able to pass a drug test and DMV and background check
• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering (BSEE) or similar engineering-related field (or equivalent experience) and 2+ years of direct EMC/EMI testing experience OR we will consider 4 years of direct EMC/EMI testing experience in lieu of a degree
• Computer literate and proficient with MS Office
• Experience with EMC testing of military and aerospace devices is highly desired
• Experience with Mil-Std-461 and DO-160 desired
• NARTE EMC certification desirable but not required

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; climb stairs; balance; stoop; kneel; crouch or crawl; talk or hear; taste or smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
