EMC Test Engineer

NTS in Fremont, CA is seeking an EMC Test/Project Engineer responsible for a wide evaluation of designs and testing of a wide array of products, to confirm compliance with applicable EMC requirements. You will be responsible for managing challenging testing/ assessment/consulting programs for a variety of clients.

Required Skills/Education/Experience:

  • Must be eligible to work in the US without sponsorship and able to pass a drug test and DMV and background check
  • BSEE, BSEET, or BS in Physics AND 2-5 years of direct EMC testing experience working in or will consider 5+ years direct EMC testing experience in lieu of a degree
  • EMC regulatory environment with strong knowledge of global EMC standards and test specifications, both current and emerging requirements, including but not limited to:
  • CISPR 25
  • SAE J1113
  • MIL-STD-461/462
  • RTCA DO-160
  • GR-1089 (NEBS) & all RBOC Supplemental Requirements
  • EN 300 386
  • Basic EU Standards: EN61000-4-X
  • EN50081-1, 82-1, 81-2, 82-2
  • FCC Parts 15, 18
  • VCCI, BSMI and Industry Canada regulations
  • CISPR 11,12,13,14,15,20,22,24,32,35
  • In depth hands-on experience performing emissions and immunity testing to the applicable specifications
  • Expert understanding of the EMC related technology and equipment including Spectrum Analyzers, RF Amplifiers, etc.
  • Keen awareness of potential product weakness and the ability to provide design guidance and recommendations for improvements
  • Strong comfort and ability to plan and manage multiple projects, set priorities and work independently under aggressive timelines
  • Expert ability to independently perform mitigation & debug efforts for both a decrease of emissions as well as hardening of system immunity
  • Systematic approach in the preparation of EMC Control, EMI test plans, procedures, and reports
  • Experience as a Team Leader or other supervisory position is also desired
  • Results oriented / highly assertive with excellent time management skills
