Procurement Contracts Specialist

NTS is seeking a Procurement/Contracts Specialist to add to the team. The newly established procurement team is making exciting changes and valuable cost savings to the organization. This is an exciting opportunity of which to be a part. This position will be located in Orange County, CA. Please read the “Required Skills” section below.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Negotiates, prepares, and processes complex contracts, leases, and procurement documents for a variety of equipment, materials, supplies and services
  • Prepares all RFPs, evaluates and provides financial analysis for proposals
  • Researches and determines the most economical methods for developing company-wide MSAs, based on need, cost, and geographic service capability
  • Develops and prepares complex financial analysis on commodities and makes recommendations based on findings to VP of Procurement
  • Works with the VP of Procurement to develop approved Strategic Supplier partnerships and roll out new programs company-wide
  • Interviews sales representatives of current and prospective Strategic Supplier partnerships and roll out new programs company-wide
  • Interviews sales representatives of current and prospective Strategic Suppliers regarding product specifications, new and improved products, trade practices, product availability, and pricing
  • Locates sources of supply where the potential number of Suppliers is likely to be limited, including non-local markets
  • Reviews proposal specifications and/or scopes of work prior to advertising
  • Evaluates proposal responses to determine responsiveness to specifications and related terms and conditions
  • Negotiates price, discount, and delivery provisions with Strategic Supplier Partners
  • Recommends changes in procurement practices and procedures to the VP of Procurement
  • Performs related duties as assigned

Required Education/Skills/Experience:

  • Must be eligible to work in the US without sponsorship (now or future) and able to pass a drug test and DMV and background check
  • Must be local
  • 4-5 years of Contracts/Supply Chain/Procurement experience negotiating and managing contract spend of $10-$50M, working in Aerospace/Defense preferred
  • 4-5 years of experience leading complex supplier negotiations with proven results in improved service, quality and documented savings
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain education preferred, not required
  • Advanced skills in Excel, Access, Power Point, and Word
  • Collect, interpret, and evaluate complex data; make sound recommendations to VP of Procurement
  • Complete complex assignments independently
  • Plan and organize work to meet deadlines
  • Make presentations of technical and complex information in a group setting
  • Evaluate work methods and procedures
  • Prepare accurate and complete written technical specifications, correspondence, and reports
  • Travel on and offsite meetings
  • Effectively utilize computer equipment and manage information systems in the performance of duties
  • Learn specialized computer software applications
