Business Intelligence Architect

The Business Intelligence Architect, will be responsible for providing hands-on design and implementation expertise around data warehousing, ETL, OLAP/tabular cubes, report development and data modeling. This position will be responsible for the maintenance of the Microsoft Azure data warehouse, as well as plan for growth and sustainability. They will be tasked with leading development and design procedures of data driven items; working individually, with business analysts, as well as stakeholders to answer key business questions and solve problems with creative solutions that provide the critical insights necessary for leadership to make informed, data driven decisions. To be considered for this position, you must possess the following skills:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field or equivalent in education and work experience
• 5 years of Business Intelligence (BI)
• Azure Data Warehousing
• Power BI
• MS SQL
• SSAS or SSIS or SSRS

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

• Architect the Microsoft Business Intelligence (BI) solutions utilizing MS SQL Server Azure, SSAS, SSRS, Power BI and Excel, tailoring solutions for management dashboards, financial reporting and operational business intelligence
• Develop and manage BI presentation application workspaces and documentation to ensure quality and stability
• Troubleshoot BI environment problems and tune for performance
• Diagnose and resolve application bottlenecks and performance issues
• Define and enforce coding standards, design styles and best practices
• Generate standard or custom reports summarizing business, financial, or economic data for review by executives, managers, sales operations, and other stakeholders while strictly managing the reporting footprint and design in order to avoid reporting sprawl
• Manage additional development resources as necessary
• Completes research, design, development, testing, retrieval, and data reporting utilizing the knowledge of various software packages including Microsoft D365CE, D365FO, AX2009, as well as others
• Advises on the resolution of complex analytics
• Identifies and recommends business, technology, and process improvement opportunities
• Establishes and serves an analytics review function to ensure the uniformity and quality of analytical tools and reports are delivered consistently to business partners
• Develop in-depth understanding of underlying data, data structures, and business uses to ensure reports meet client needs
• Support end-user community in the use of business intelligent tools to query databases and files for report outputs
• Participates in creating project work plans for assigned tasks to ensure milestones are met
• Prepares progress reports to inform management of project status and deviation from goals
• Supports subject matter experts in specific business systems analysis areas (e.g., business domains, processes, tools, techniques, etc.) while expanding his/her knowledge database

REQUIRED EDUCATION/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

• Must be eligible to work in the US without sponsorship (present or future) and able to pass a drug test and DMV and background check
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field or equivalent in education and work experience
• 5+ years of experience architecting, developing and/or managing the implementation of Business Intelligence solutions using Microsoft SQL Server, Microsoft SSAS, Power BI, or other enterprise level tools
• 3+ years of direct experience designing and deploying Power BI solutions including Azure SQL and the Microsoft BI Stack
• Experience with data analytics providing actionable data driving decision making
• Extensive experience designing and the development of Enterprise data warehouses and reporting systems for a medium to large scale BI user community
• Experience with ERP and CRM solutions preferred
• Understanding of multi-dimensional and tabular database design and architecture including the Kimball data warehouse model
• Ability to conduct quality control/auditing to ensure accurate and appropriate use of data during the project system, integration test and user acceptance testing
• Extremely detail-oriented with respect to documentation and communication
• Strong problem solving, math, statistics, analytical and quantitative reasoning skills
• Whole problem solver, implements solutions to solve root cause problems
• Able to express complex concepts and effectively, both verbally and in writing to business partners
• Comfortable interacting with stakeholders at all levels throughout the business
• Desire to achieve excellent project outcomes and exceed expectations
