
Aaron Cohen is Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors, Senior Vice President and Founder of National Technical Systems. He previously held the positions of Chairman of the Board of Directors and President of NTS. He was on the board continuously since 1961 through 1989 at which time he resigned due to a Small Business Administration conflict between NTS and an affiliated publicly held company. He then rejoined the NTS Board in 1997 when the conflict no longer was material.
Mr. Cohen is President of Smithway Associates., a property management firm and Co-founder and Managing Director of Berthoud Development a property development company. He is also a member of the Board of Directors of Intelligent Optical Systems, a research and development company and Optech Ventures a new products licensor. He also serves on the boards of Permacity, a solar development company and Tetragenex, a publicly held pharmaceutical company.
Mr. Cohen received a BS in Engineering from University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) where he is a Chancellor’s Associate, a Foundation Governor and a member of the Dean’s Advisory Council of the Henry Samueli School of Engineering and Applied Sciences. He also serves on the Board of Directors of the UCLA Engineering Institute for Technology Advancement and the Engineering Alumni Association. His current professional memberships include the National Association of Professional Engineers, American Society for Quality Control, and the Institute of Environmental Sciences. Mr. Cohen holds a Professional Engineering License from the State of California in the field of Quality Assurance.
